Through May 30 – In the Attic: The World Unmasked – This collection of masks unveils cultural customs from around the world. Learn about the significance of masks used in ceremonies throughout the world, including those of Native Americans, Mexicans, Japanese and Africans.

May 1 – Drumming Workshop – Learn about the culture of Africa and other countries while learning the art of drumming from professional drummer Ken Arnoff. Four 45-minute workshops will take place in The World Unmasked exhibit on the third floor between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Each workshop can accommodate 20 students; drums will be provided. Tickets for the workshop are free with paid museum admission and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
May 5 – Senior Day – From 10:30 to 2 p.m. MOSH will present special programming for members of the senior citizen community. The program will include a coffee and cookie reception, an exhibit tour, a planetarium program, and free time to explore the Museum. The cost is $6 per senior citizen. Reservations are required and are based on availability. Call 396-MOSH (6674), ext. 229 for details.
May 5 – Half-Price Half Days – Beginning at noon each Wednesday during the school year, students receive 50% off MOSH's regular admission prices. Reduced rates are $4.00 for students 3-12 and $5.00 for students 13 and over. Students under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Discount may be applied toward college students with id.
May 9 – Mothers Receive Free Admission – In celebration of Mother’s Day, mothers receive free admission when accompanied by their child(ren).

May 15 – September 12 – The Chronicles of Narnia: The Exhibition –Step through the wardrobe and into the world of Narnia. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Exhibition is a magical exhibit based on the blockbuster film series and fictional children’s classics by author C.S. Lewis. Hailed as the near-perfect visitor experience, the exhibit combines original film costumes, set drawings and props from “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” and “Prince Caspian” with newly created educational interactives, videos and interviews with scientists so that visitors can consider the surprising similarity between our world and that of Narnia.
May 16 – Sons of the Desert Laurel & Hardy Film Screening – Witness Jacksonville film history as you watch films starring Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, many of which were filmed right here in Jacksonville. Admittance is free to MOSH members, “Any Old Port Tent” members, or with paid museum admission. Films start at 2 p.m.

June 14-August 13 – Summer Adventure Camps – Become a scientist! Travel back in time to the age of dinosaurs! Build space robots! A new adventure awaits each week at the Museum of Science & History’s Summer Adventure Camps. In addition to hands-on instruction, planetarium programs and science shows, campers will also get to explore the Museum’s exhibits. Camps are offered for pre-k students through fifth graders (Space Robots camp is for 6th - 8th graders). Before and after care is available. Register online at www.themosh.org. June 19 – January 30 – In the Attic: The People of the St. Johns – Travel back in time 12,000 years to learn about Northeast Florida’s first inhabitants. Guest curator Keith Ashley, Ph.D., an archeologist at the University of North Florida, has partnered with MOSH to create this exciting new exhibit that explores the everyday life of the people of the St. Johns.

July 10 – Tonca’s Birthday – Help throw a blow-out birthday bash for Tonca, MOSH’s beloved 128-pound alligator snapping turtle. Activities will include Tonca’s annual weigh-in, party games, and of course, birthday cake!

July 31 – Napping in Narnia – Let your imagination run wild as you drift into a sleepy state filled with adventures inspired by The Chronicles of Narnia: The Exhibit. This overnight camp-in will also include a science and planetarium show, free time to explore the museum, a pizza snack and donuts for breakfast.
