Docent Volunteer Program

Docents are a small group of dedicated volunteers who have a passion for working in an educational setting and have a strong desire to support the Museum. They play a major role in helping visitors learn about the history of Northeast Florida and are integral to the Museum’s mission of inspiring the joy of life-long learning by bringing to life the sciences and regional history.

The MOSH Docent Corp will receive strong training on how to lead public tours, interact with guests, interpret the Currents of Time exhibit and serve as guides for MOSH’s Science & History Boat Tours.

Joining the MOSH Docent Corp is a year-long commitment and volunteers are expected to dedicate a minimum of (2) four hour shifts per month. As part of this special volunteer program, docents are immediately awarded a MOSH Volunteer t-shirt, a name badge and a membership to the Museum to share with their family.

Shifts are available Monday, Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
