The Living River depicts the wide variety of habitats found in the St. Johns River and surrounding ecosystems, from wide marshes, springs, and cypress lined shores and lakes. Allison Watson draws inspiration for her landscape paintings from her personal connection to the St. Johns. “The river is a wonderful subject for my work as a landscape artist. I grew up on the river and have always been inspired by its history, beauty and mystery. The river is vital to Jacksonville and must be protected.” The exhibition is in support of Cultural Fusion’s 2015 theme, Year of the River. Thank you to Regions Bank for its sponsorship of visual art throughout the Museum.
