Enjoy the splendor and beauty of the winter sky and join jolly ol’ Santa as he is joined by his alien “abductor,” Mr. Freep. Together they explore the planets of the Solar System and meet the Christmas Eve needs of all their inhabitants.

The show traces the development of many of the world’s endearing and familiar holiday customs, and how they involve lighting up the winter season. The show also explores a possible astronomical origin of the “Star over Bethlehem.”

Explore the history of experimental launches and the animals that helped us learn how to survive in space. Meet a MOSH animal that represents of one of these cosmic critters.


COURTYARD ADVENTURE (Thursday)
Hixon Native Plant Courtyard
Explore the Hixon Native Plant Courtyard and pond and learn more about plants and animals native to Northeast Florida.

Bryan-Gooding Planetarium
The exploration of space is humankind’s greatest endeavor. Go on an incredible voyage to discover what it takes to be an astronaut as you experience a rocket launch from inside the human body. Learn about the hazards of space exploration through “Chad,” our test astronaut.
