Around the same time Harlem, New York City was becoming recognized for its bustling jazz scene, Jacksonville too took on a new identity later dubbed the “Harlem of the South”. Join TRAD Music Preservation Society on a guided exploration of the sounds and rhythms attributed to the historic Jazz Age. The evening will open with a remark on what the city of Jacksonville’s cultural landscape was like during the first half of the 20th Century. Take a trip back in time as you learn how jazz influenced the city’s musical roots and how it’s influence still resonates today on the MOSH Rooftop!
The doors will open at 6 p.m. Guests are invited to mingle and grab light refreshments. The program will begin at 6:30 p.m.
