On the Pulse Presents Toxic Stress

September 14, 2018 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Stress is a normal and natural response to situations or events perceived as threats. When stress becomes toxic it can lead to weathering, a weakening of the body due to constant wear and tear.

Join Northeast Florida Healthy Start Coalition Inc. as they discuss the triggers of toxic stress in both adults and children and how it affects our local community. After a brief discussion, head up to the MOSH rooftop where we’ll explore fun ways to unwind – breathing and yoga exercises with Yoga 4 Change, DIY stress balls and more! Leave with tools to use for when you need them most.

All ages are welcome. Dress comfortably for yoga. Yoga mats will be provided. Light refreshments will be provided.

On the Pulse is a series of programs that takes an in-depth look at some of Jacksonville’s hardest hitting health issues while offering new views that actively challenge social stereotypes and promote acceptance. Join MOSH as we tackle topics and give a voice to silent issues within the city.
