Past, Present and Future: Florida’s Water in the St. Johns River Basin

Come join MOSH and St. Johns Riverkeeper for an interactive and interesting look at the Past, Present and Future of the water flowing through our region. Through pictures, speakers, videos and workshops, adults and children will have the opportunity to understand many of the issues facing our water today from scientists, artists and community leaders. Speakers; Rick Kilby (past), Matt Keene (present), and Jeremy Stalker (future) will expand on topics for adults including: historic flows of Florida springs and the connection to the St. Johns River, explorations and adventures on the St. Johns and Ocklawaha, and the impacts of salinity intrusion to fish and waterways. Topics for kids include: invertebrate encounters, ponds and beyond, how much water we use, and scientist water sampling.  Special screening of River Be Dammed: Florida’s Forgotten River including Q&A with the film maker, Matt Keene. The event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $18 for adults and $12 for kids (ages 6 and up) which includes admission to MOSH and the Springs Eternal exhibit, participation in all lectures or workshops and lunch.
