Science on Tap – JAX is a monthly science speaker series creating deeper conversation and understanding of topics relevant to the Jacksonville community.
If a tree falls in a forest, and there’s no one around to hear it, does it make a sound? Can two people that are on opposite sides of the Milky Way Galaxy communicate with each other without delay? Led by Niels Bohr and Albert Einstein, the entire physics community had a fierce debate on these questions to understand quantum mechanics. Dr. Guangyao Chen of Jacksonville University will discuss how physicists settled this dispute based on the experiments of the three physicists who won the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. with a pre-talk mix and mingle. The presentation begins at 7 p.m. A Q&A session will be held following the talk.
The event is at The Justice Pub and is free and open to the public.
Address: 315 E Bay Street, Suite 101
