Through June 30 – Sculptures by Jim Smith – Work by local artist Jim Smith is currently being featured on MOSH’s second floor. The sculptures were commissioned in complement to La Caroline: Jacksonville’s Rock Opera which made its debut at MOSH last fall. The sculptures were created using specific colors, textures and shapes to depict individual characters from the original production. This display is part of the Arts Infusion Program at MOSH which showcases work by local artists in support of the Museum’s mission to inspire the joy of lifelong learning by bringing to life the sciences and regional history. Through March 31 – Odyssey’s SHIPWRECK! Pirates & Treasure – Final Month! – Odyssey’s SHIPWRECK! Pirates & Treasure brings real shipwreck treasures – and the technology used to recover it – to the Museum of Science & History! Find out what it’s like to be a shipwreck explorer, the captain of a sinking ship or a pirate on the run with hands-on activities including a robotic arm to pick up treasure and a hurricane simulator to challenge the storm. Discover more than 500 priceless artifacts recovered from famous shipwrecks including real gold and silver treasure.
